Chickamauga Order of Battle updated

The Chickamauga Order of Battle has been revamped and updated. Now every single regiment has been accounted for and the Order of Battle is complete.

Working hard

Things have been quiet on the blog, but I've been working hard. I have just finished the first draft of a book for wargaming the Battle of Chickamauga in miniature. It will be available as a .pdf file. I'm about to begin editing, and then working on the publishing. Since I know the company that will be publishing it, I don't think that will be a big issue. The book has 12 scenarios, and can be adapted for use with any set of ACW miniature rules. I expect it to be out in March or April. Then, its back to the website. I'll probably update some Sept. 19th pages. New information is always becoming available. Then it's back to the big work. Getting the Sept. 20th maps finished and uploaded. My goal is to have the entire Chickamauga site up by the end of the year.

Finished the Order of Battle pages

I've finished the Chickamauga Order of Battle pages for both the 19th and 20th. Next will be completing the individual unit pages, but that will be some time. First I'm going to get the maps for the 20th completed and uploaded, as well as the rest of the pictures and videos.

Confederate Order of Battle

For the past two weeks or so I've been working on the Chickamauga Confederate Order of Battle for September 19th. Its been a lot of math and excel spreadsheets. Trying to tell whether the commander means effective strength, effective strength plus officers, or total present for duty is tough. Its really all in the context. I hope to have it up in a week or so. Then I might start and finish the order of battle for the 20th for both armies. That should be easier, since the basic format is there from the pages of the 19th.

1st Day Finished

A big milestone today! I have finished and uploaded all of the map and picture files for the first day of the battle! September 19th is done!

19th Maps Done

I just finished the last of the maps for the 19th! Now I have to do the html and get them up.

Finishing the 19th

I've decided to go ahead and finish the maps and pictures for the 19th. Get the whole day done. I'm almost finished with the maps themselves. Then I'll put them up on the site. After that I'll work on the pictures for the Then and Now section. That may be easier to just do that whole section, since there is no point in dividing the pictures between the two days of battle.

After all that is done I'll probably finish and put up the Confederate order of battle for the 19th.
